Problem: Federal marshals were unable to access the OFDT’s legacy database on computers and smart phones when they needed to check the time-sensitive availability and rates of the nearby federal facilities for newly apprehended detainees. Building out the current system was cost-and time-prohibitive.
Challenge: Synchronizing data and processes between the legacy system and Salesforce.
Solution: Buan developed a sophisticated Salesforce solution that consisted of almost all custom objects, VisualForce pages, and Apex code. Buan also created a portal for the marshals to access remotely that reflected the government departments unique branding.
Benefits/Results: Federal marshals can now easily and instantly determine from the field where to place their detainees based on accurate, real-time information.
