Problem: Customer needed a way to protect intellectual property yet still have a salesforce.com integrated solution
Challenge: Uploading Rain King data into salesforce.com exposes intellectual property. Cannot “turn-off” service if customer no longer pays
Solution:
- Created integration between Salesforce and externally hosted database to display real time data within Salesforce CRM interface. The integration was a series of web controls embedded within Salesforce page layouts. The web controls mimicked the native Salesforce branding and provided read only access to externally hosted data.
- Integration developed as Salesforce managed package and released via AppExchange.
Benefits/Results: Customer successfully launched integrated salesforce.com solution within budget and received full certification for placement on the salesforce.com appexchange.
