Extending your Salesforce data and resources to partners is an invaluable way to connect with your channel in real-time. From assigning Leads, collaborating on Opportunities, registering deals and extending training resources – Partner Communities can help deals get closed faster. Now in the Spring ‘17 release, Salesforce is arming your partners with yet another invaluable tool your internal sales team is already taking advantage of – Salesforce CPQ!
Salesforce CPQ allows your sales team to create and deliver accurate quotes by guiding them to select the right combination of products and services with consistent and approved pricing and discounting. Once a quote is complete, generating a customized and personalized proposal is at the touch of a button. With Salesforce CPQ for Partner Communities you can now proffer these time-saving tools to your channel as well.
Before this release it was possible to extend CPQ functionality to your Partners in communities with a Salesforce tabs + Visualforce-based template, and only through the help of a developer. This costs your company time and money. Now your capable Salesforce Admin can enable Salesforce CPQ for Partners in Napili templates. This community enhancement will allow your partners to quickly create accurate, approved Quotes and generate the same ready-made customer proposals your internal sales team is already leveraging – all without leaving the community!
This is made possible in Spring ‘17 by the allowance of Visualforce pages, actions, buttons and links to work in the Customer Service (Napili) templated communities. After ensuring your partner profiles have Visualforce page permissions and making your Visualforce pages available for the community, navigate to your Community Builder. Here, add a Visualforce page component to the page and choose your available CPQ pages. Visit the Spring 17 Release Notes for more information.
